APPA Board of Directors Elects Kevin Fick as Chair
At its recent annual meeting, the board of directors of the American Pet Products Association (APPA) elected Kevin Fick, CEO of Worldwise, to serve as chairman for the 2017-2018 term.
“Kevin has played an integral role on this board for the past four years,” said APPA president and CEO Bob Vetere. “We are confident his dedication and industry knowledge will be a great asset to the board, the association, and, ultimately, our members and the entire pet industry.”
Novato, Calif.-based Worldwise manufactures brands such as SmartyKat, TrustyPup, Petlinks, Kathy Ireland Loved Ones, goDog, Hear Doggy!, Sherpa and Guaranteed On Board.
“I am thrilled to be working closer with Bob and the entire APPA board to make a difference in the industry and continue to drive the successes we’ve achieved to date,” Fick said. “We’ve already identified a number of exciting initiatives that we believe will elevate the health and care of pets, the industry and APPA members alike.”
Fick joined the APPA board in 2013 and has more than 17 years of experience in the pet industry. Prior to joining Worldwise, he worked for EK Success and Central Garden & Pet Co.
Chuck Latham of Parker, Colo.-based H&C Animal Health will serve as secretary/treasurer, and Bob Merar, president of Milwaukee-based Exclusively Pet, is immediate past president.
