Redbarn Donates $14K Worth of Cat Food Kansas Humane Society

Redbarn Pet Products, whose booth is pictured here at last month's Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Fla., donated more than 7,500 cans of cat food to a Midwestern humane society.

Redbarn Pet Products, a manufacturer of premium food, treats and chews for dogs and cats, donated more than 7,500 cans of cat food to the Golden Belt Humane Society in Great Bend, Kan., to help support the cats in the society’s care. Acting as both an intake facility and a rescue organization, the Golden Belt Humane Society also oversees other temporary placement through its foster program; foster homes provide the animals stability, training and extra tender, loving care before adoption.

According to the company’s calculations, the food could feed more than 150 cats twice a day for one month.

“Redbarn was founded on the principle of creating better, more nutritious food for every dog,” said Redbarn co-owner Jeff Baikie. “We understand when times are tough, it can be very difficult on a family with pets and for that reason we are honored to support the Golden Belt Humane Society and its animal welfare goals. It’s our hope that with a donation of this size, we will enable this rescue to help provide better care for the cats in their facility.”
