PPN: What are the top-selling products in your store right now?
LS: Hands down our birthday cakes. Next would be our homemade doggie ice cream, and we sell tons of great toys. Some of our best-selling toys are the new Mighty Dog Toys Microfiber Series from VIP Products and Knotties from HuggleHounds. For kitties, DuckyWorld Products and From the Field catnip toys are always a big hit.
PPN: What is your favorite product right now?
LS: Any superdurable toy, and some of our specialty treats are pretty fantastic.
PPN: What trend have you been keeping your eye on most closely?
LS: Food, for both dogs and cats. There have been so many changes in the past few years. We have a small amount of food now; I am definitely going to keep expanding and growing that part of my business.
PPN: What business challenge are you currently in the process of tackling?
LS: Just keeping up with current trends. The pet market is always evolving. We attend SuperZoo every year to find the latest and greatest for our shop.
PPN: What business goal are you hoping to achieve this year?
LS: We plan to expand our birthday cake market, increase our pre-packaged food selection and grow our client base through social networking/marketing.
