Andis Expands Global Education Team

Published:

Three international pet groomers—Manuel Graniel (Mexico), Miki Takagi (Japan) and Luiz Renato (Brazil)—have joined Andis Co.’s global education team as small animal educators.

“Andis is proud to have 27 animal educators spanning five continents, and we are not planning on slowing growth anytime soon,” said Nicole Kallish, global education manager for Andis Animal. “We know there is a great need for top-tier education in the animal grooming space. Andis is proud to bring our commitment to excellence to bear, not just with our tools, but by providing world-class educational resources to groomers across the world.”

Graniel got his start breeding Siberian huskies, going on to win multiple awards for breeds including Boxers, Afghans, shih tzus and Pomeranians, to name a few, according to company officials. He transitioned to commercial dog grooming and has been a groomer instructor since 2013.

“To be a great groomer, the pursuit of education goes hand-in-hand with expertise in operating professional tools,” said Graniel, who is also the instructor coordinator for Alianz Canine Worldwide (ACW) in Latin America and the ACW-Mexico representative.

Takagi is a certified Japan Kennel Club A-class trimmer and owner of three pet salons. She is also a competition judge in Japan and other Asian countries. As a competitive groomer, she has won many contest prizes in various shows, company officials said. Takagi appears in season four of Netflix’s “Dog Story” documentary.

Renato started his career in 1997 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has spent many years taking classes with prominent grooming specialists, officials said. He is now the owner of Grooming Time and Grooming & Care pet shop and day care in Sao Paulo. He is also an international judge for the European Grooming Association in addition to being Pet Society Ambassador.

“These titles represent his professional growth and reflect his daily search to overcome new challenges with focus and discipline,” officials said. “He knows that the effort and passion he puts in his work enhances the quality of his services.”

Andis Co. is headquartered in Sturtevant, Wis.
