Andis Names Winner of Groom Nation Scholarship
Andis Groom Nation Scholarship winner Kyla Hudson
In an expanded partnership with the Animal Behavior College (ABC), Andis Co. in Sturtevant, Wis., has awarded Kyla Hudson from Mexico, Mo., the brand’s second annual Andis Groom Nation Scholarship to ABC’s Certified Pet Grooming Program.
“We’re proud to partner with Animal Behavior College to offer another Andis Groom Nation Scholarship opportunity this year,” said Nicole Kallish, animal education manager at Andis. “From basic theories to advanced techniques, we know that proper education is one of the most important tools for success. We’re excited to see Kyla jumpstart her career in this exciting industry.”
Applications from around the country were submitted and reviewed by a panel of grooming experts for this year’s Groom Nation Scholarship. Hudson, who hopes to receive a Master Groomer Certification, was chosen for her current involvement in the animal community as a volunteer groomer, where she helps with rescue events to raise money for her local shelter. Once certified, she’d love to take over her family’s grooming shop, a business that was started by her aunt more than 30 years ago. The Andis Groom Nation Scholarship will be the first step in transforming Kyla’s passion into a profession.
“I feel incredibly grateful to be selected for this year’s Andis Groom Nation Scholarship,” Hudson said. “Growing up, I fell in love with grooming while helping my aunt at her shop. This scholarship will help me fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a certified groomer, and keep our family’s business alive for generations to come.”
