Annamaet Petfoods Launches Degradable Packaging

Published:

As part of its ongoing dedication to green business practices, Annamaet Petfoods Inc. has launched degradable packaging. The move also aims to support a more sustainable future for the pet industry.

“We have always been diligent about sourcing sustainable, high quality ingredients for our dog and cat food formulas,” said Robert Downey, president of the Telford, Pa.-based company. “It was the natural next step for us to bring sustainable, degradable bags into the mix.”

The new packaging is made possible through a partnership with BioFlex, a biodegradable technology brand of Layfield Group in Richmond, B.C., Canada. The packaging was designed to decompose, reducing the amount of single-use plastics in the landfill, according to Annamaet Petfoods. The packaging is also formulated to convert what would be trash into clean, renewable energy, the company further noted.

Annamaet has redesigned and updated the appearance of its packaging with new graphics and a resealable Velcro closure in every bag.
