Brandon McMillan and PPN Kick Off Social Media Contest at Global Pet Expo
Dozens of attendees flocked to the Pet Product News (PPN) booth (5945) at Global Pet Expo on March 21 for engaging conversations with Brandon McMillan, the Emmy Award-winning host of “Lucky Dog” on CBS. McMillan helped PPN launch a social media contest that will benefit three shelters nationwide.
During the event, McMillan, who debuted two training tools last year—the Shake and Break, and the Lure Stick—with manufacturer partner Petmate, signed copies of his book “Lucky Dog Lessons” and took photos with attendees.
Attendees are invited to post their photos with McMillan on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #PPNLuckyDog. Photos posted using the #PPNLuckyDog hashtag will be considered for the social media contest. The three photos with the most engagement—likes or shares on Facebook, retweets or favorites on Twitter and likes on Instagram—will win a donation of pet products to the nonprofit no-kill animal shelter of their choice. Photos must be posted by March 25 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).
Three sponsoring pet product manufacturers, Lucy Pet Products, Loving Pets and Petmate, will donate products to the winning shelters:
- Lucy Pet Products will donate 1,000 pounds of Formulas for Life pet food for dogs and cats.
- Loving Pets will donate a total of 3,000 bags of treats, 1,000 bags to each winner of Houndations - mix and Totally Grainless Chicken and Cranberry.
- Petmate will donate an assortment of beds, kennels and toys.
The winners will be announced Tuesday, March 27, in a special Global Pet Expo edition of the Pet Product News e-newsletter. Sign up for the e-newsletter here.
“It was evident during every interaction that Brandon had with each attendee that not only is he incredibly knowledgable, but he also truly cares about helping people and animals, and the work he does everyday,” said Jennifer Boncy, editor in chief of Pet Product News magazine. “We look forward to seeing the results of our social media contest, and are so grateful to our sponsors Lucy Pet Products, Loving Pets and Petmate.”
