Carnivore Meat Co. Recalls Lot of Vital Essentials Frozen Pet Food

Green Bay, Wis.-based Carnivore Meat Co. is recalling a single lot of Vital Essentials Frozen Chicken Patties Entrée for Dogs due to possible Salmonella contamination. The affected product was distributed in California, Florida, Georgia, Rhode Island, Texas and Washington.

 

The single lot involved in the voluntary recall is:
Vital Essentials Frozen Chicken Patties Entrée for Dogs, net wt. 6 lb.
UPC 33211 00807
Lot No. 11475
Best-by date 20161108 (11/08/16)
The “Best By” date code and lot number are located on the back of the package.

 

The Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) selected and tested product as part of a national collection initiative, which was issued by the Center of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) on June 3, 2015. The FDA notified Carnivore Meat Co. that one of samples collected tested positive for Salmonella. No complaints or reports of illness have been received. No other product manufactured by Carnivore Meat Co. is involved in this voluntary recall.

Consumers who have purchased this product are urged to call 920-370-6542 Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. CST, for assistance in obtaining replacement or a full refund from their local retailer for the original purchase.
