Green Coast Pet Earns NASC Quality Seal

Published:

Green Coast Pet has officially received the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) seal on five of its products.

The NASC Quality Seal program was developed after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s 21CFR Part 111 regulations for human dietary supplements and the Food Safety Modernization Act to give buyers and pet owners peace of mind that the products they are giving their pets have passed rigorous certification standards.

A rigorous audit of a company’s supply chain, manufacturing, quality assurance protocols, labeling and marketing, which is designed to ensure the consumer is getting a beneficial, quality and audited product for their pets, was required of Green Coast Pet in order to obtain the NASC Quality Seal. This audit is the reason that both retailers and consumers trust and recognize the NASC Seal as the ultimate qualifier for products in the category, according to officials for the Pasadena, Calif.-based company.

The NASC has recognized the following products from Green Coast Pet to display the Quality Seal: Hemp + SuperBlend Chicken Flavor Chews, Hemp + SuperBlend Whitefish Flavor Chews, Full-Spectrum Hemp Peanut Butter Flavor Chews, Full-Spectrum Hemp Whitefish Flavor Chews for Cats, Hemp + MSM Peanut Butter Flavored Paste, eLICKser PCR Hemp, eLICKser Calming, eLICKser Hip/Joint and eLICKser Pre & Probiotic. The eLICKser products will soon be renamed, according to company officials.

“I’m proud that Green Coast Pet is the first company that makes an entire line of PCR hemp chews to obtain the NASC Quality Seal for its products,” said Nick Massey, co-founder and CEO of Green Coast Pet. “Being first gives Green Coast Pet a unique advantage, in that, we can sell to retailers that require all of the supplements they carry to be NASC audited before anyone else.”

The NASC seal on any supplement is a must to ensure quality and compliance with a strict independent audit of products, supply chain, manufacturing facilities and operating procedures. The NASC Quality Seal program was initiated as part of an ongoing effort to improve and standardize the pet supplement industry.

“In the creation of all of our branded materials, we had NASC guidelines and rules in our driver's seat to ensure that we were headed down the right path to bring those core values to the market place in a category that sorely needed it,” said Mike Bateman, co-founder and COO of Green Coast Pet. “The confusion in this category is rampant and it is our mission to bring an honest and credible brand to the market. We look forward to continuing to launch new, innovative and fun products to the market with the guidance of NASC requirements.”
