Jackson Galaxy’s Feline-Focused Festival Expands to Las Vegas
Cat Camp, co-founded by Jackson Galaxy (pictured), is expanding to Las Vegas.
Jackson Galaxy, a cat behaviorist and star of Animal Planet’s “My Cat from Hell,” is expanding Cat Camp to Las Vegas. The annual feline-focused festival, which is sponsored by the Petco Foundation, will be held Nov. 9-10.
Cat Camp recently celebrated its third successful year in New York, attracting people from 31 states and eight countries, according to event organizers.
“By using the momentum built over the past three years, the goal of this expansion to the West Coast is to give even more of the country access to the immersive event in order to inspire even more people to celebrate cats, connect with their community and cultivate advocacy,” organizers said.
Cat Camp Las Vegas will include educational presentations with speakers including Galaxy and kitten advocate, Hanna Shaw, aka Kitten Lady. The event will also feature interactive workshops, arts and crafts and cutting-edge products for both cats and their owners.
In addition, event organizers aim to “do a city takeover” by partnering with multiple cat organizations to host camp-style sessions all over the city.
Cat Camp was founded by Galaxy and Christina Ha, co-owner of New York’s cat café, Meow Parlour. She’s also the president of its affiliated nonprofit rescue and adoption group, Meow Parlour Cats.
