National Animal Supplement Council Conference Draws Raves
The recently concluded National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) Annual Conference, which took place at the La Quinta Resort and Club in Palm Springs, Calif., saw 242 registered attendees as well as 30 exhibitors attend.
Industry participants, such as those who sell supplements for dogs, cats and horses, ingredient suppliers, veterinarians, veterinary associations and others, came to sunny Southern California to learn the latest about their industry, participate in workshops and panel discussions, meet with vendors, and compete on the links in a special NASC golf tournament.
“I was very impressed with the event,” said Scott Baker, companion animal innovative product manager for Trouw Nutrition USA, a Highland, Ill.-based ingredient supplier, in an email to Bill Bookout, NASC president. “It really drives home the commitment to the industry and the betterment of animal lives you and your members have.”
Carol Frank, a pet industry specialist with BirdsEye Consulting in Boulder, Colo., presented “The Myths and Realities of Pet Industry Mergers and Acquisitions” and discussed:
- Why buyers are more interested than ever in investing in the pet industry;
- What buyers are looking for;
- What buyers are really paying;
- How to position your company to take advantage of these trends; and
- The top three deal killers.
Bo Eason, a former National Football League standout and star of his one-man show, Runt of the Litter, told a rapt NASC audience that they each have a story to tell as he delivered the keynote address, “Realize Your Personal Story Power.”
The next NASC Annual Conference will take place May 10 to 13, 2016, at the Horseshoe Bay Resort in Austin, Texas.
