Nutramax Labs Launches Campaign Celebrating Pets and Vets

Nutramax Laboratories Veterinary Sciences Inc., makers of Cosequin, a retail joint supplement brand for pets, launched Love Your Pet, Trust Your Vet, a campaign aimed at celebrating the love people have for their pets and the work veterinarians do worldwide.
To this end, Nutramax Labs of Lancaster, S.C., presents “Gorilla Doctors,” a video chronicling the work veterinarians do in caring for critically endangered mountain gorillas in the wilds of Africa, on its website at lyptyv.com.
Nutramax with Partners in Conservation, a program of the World Wildlife Fund, U.S. headquarters in Washington, D.C., and The Columbus (Ohio) Zoo support the work of the Gorilla Doctors.
When zoologist Dian Fossey first brought worldwide attention to the plight of Africa’s mountain gorillas many decades ago there were only 240 of them and now that group has rebounded to 480 and “veterinary care has been responsible for half of that growth,” says Dr. Mike Cranfield, DVM, co-director, Gorilla Doctors.
The Gorilla Doctors is an international team of veterinarians and the only group providing direct, hands-on care in the wild for these critically endangered animals.
“If it wasn’t for veterinarians, a lot of these species would have been gone a long time ago,” said Jack Hanna, director emeritis, The Columbus Zoo.
Nutramax and Cosequin is encouraging pet others to join them in celebrating pets and vets by sharing pet/vet photos, videos and using #LoveUrPet.
