Oxbow Animal Health Names 2015 Scholarship Winners

Dakota Palacio is attending North Carolina State University and plans to use the money from the Oxbow Undergraduate Academic Scholarship toward her goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Oxbow Animal Health, a Murdock, Neb.-based supplier of premium life-staged foods and supportive care products for small exotic animals, named the recipients of its 2015 Academic Scholarships.

The Oxbow Academic Scholarships award annual financial support to five outstanding students pursuing education in exotic and companion animal veterinary fields.

This year’s scholarship winners are:

• Nebraska High School Scholarship—Brianna Sander, Waverly High School, Waverly, Neb.

• Undergraduate Academic Scholarship—Dakota Palacio, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C.

• Veterinary Technology Academic Scholarship—Savannah Glass, International Business College Vet Tech Institute, Indianapolis, Ind.

• Veterinary Technology Academic Scholarship—Amber Spinuzzi, University of Nevada, Reno, Nev.

• Veterinary Medicine Academic Scholarship—Therese Gavin, Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, College Station, Texas.

“Animals have been one of the most influential things in my life and I believe that, as extensions of our families, they deserve wonderful care,” said Dakota Palacio, a student at North Carolina State University and this year’s winner of the Oxbow Undergraduate Academic Scholarship. “The Oxbow Animal Health Scholarship will help me to continue my journey at North Carolina State University to pursue my dreams of becoming a veterinarian.”
