PIDA Elects New Board Officers
Mark Smith was elected PIDA's chairman of the board.
The Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) elected Mark Smith, president of Frontier Distributing Inc. in Oxford, Mich., as its chairman of the board during PIDA’s annual business meeting in Laguna Beach, Calif. He succeeds Scott Rath who chaired the association’s board for two years. Rath will continue on the board as immediate past chairman.
“As a distributor, I value my membership in PIDA as an essential contributor to my company’s success,” said Smith. “I am honored to lead this organization and will work with the Board and staff to continue PIDA’s legacy of service to distributors and our trading partners.”
Other officers elected to serve in 2017 are Jeff Boyd of Lee-Mar Aquarium & Pet Supplies in Vista, Calif. as vice-chairman and Craig Brummell of Essex Topcrop Sales in Essex, Ontario, Canada as secretary-treasurer.
Peter Reid of Marshall Pet in Wolcott, N.Y. was elected to serve a three-year term as a director. He previously served on the board from 1996 to 2005 and was president of PIDA in 2002 and 2003. Reid will represent live animal wholesalers on the PIDA Board.
Continuing on the board are Jim Bradley of Bradley Caldwell, Inc.; Rob Chouinard of Phillips Feed & Pet Supply; Ryan Judge of Southeast Pet; and Clancy Lavins of Animal Supply Co.
