PIDA Promotes Retailer-Distributor Relationship in Video Series
The Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) recently launched a series of videos featuring independent pet retailers as part of the Power of D Growth Through Distribution program. These three videos, filmed at nine successful retailers in different regions of the U.S., emphasize the strength of the distributor-retailer relationship through in-store support, as well as logistics and promotional support, to help stores grow and prosper. The series of videos is available on the program’s website.
“Our distributor members are industry experts who provide insights and advice to guide purchasing and merchandising decisions, offering invaluable support to their retail accounts,” said Celeste Powers, PIDA president. “Distributors provide a direct link between the manufacturer and the retailers, which help the retailers offer unique products and increase their profitability. This relationship benefits the entire supply chain.”
Initially created more than a decade ago, the Power of D program was reintroduced in 2017 as a way to help PIDA members effectively communicate the value that wholesaler-distributors bring to the pet product channel through the program’s website.
The first phase of the program targeted manufacturers that are new to the pet industry or that haven’t worked through distributors before to better understand their value proposition.
The website includes four additional videos that focus on the distributor-manufacturer relationship and getting products to market. All seven videos are also featured on PIDA’s YouTube channel.
