PSI Joins Pet Connections Expo’s Campfire Session
Pet Sitters International (PSI) will be delivering a Campfire Session during the International Conference Development’s Pet Connections Expo, which is slated for Oct. 15-16 at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center in Edison, N.J. The topic will be centered on how pet stores can have a beneficial relationship with professional pet sitters and dog walkers.
“We look forward to opening our doors to pet sitters, dog walkers and other pet professionals that are certainly great influencers for pet products, and an important group that works with and refers pet parents to independent retailers,” said Bill Doherty, show director. “This is a perfect fit for Pet Connections Expo.”
Customers often look at their local retailers as a resource for more than just pet products or pet food, and will trust the recommendation on pet-care providers, including pet sitters and dog walkers, PSI officials said. The campfire session will explain how to network with local professional pet sitters, what qualifications retailers should look for before recommending a pet sitter to customers and how collaborating with local professional pet sitters can benefit the retail business.
“Professional pet sitters become trusted advisors to their clients, often providing recommendations on pet food and products, as well as on local retailers and pet-centric businesses,” said Beth Stultz-Hairston, vice president of PSI. “Because of this, it is vital that pet-care professionals and retailers build relationships. I am thrilled that Pet Connections Expo brings vendors, retailers and pet professionals together. Pet Sitters International is proud to support this collaboration which benefits the businesses involved, as well as the pets in their care.”
