PSI Names Finalists for 2019 Pet Sitter of the Year Awards
Four professional pet sitters from the United States and a professional pet sitter from Canada have been named the top-five finalists for Pet Sitters International’s 2019 Pet Sitter of the Year Award.
The five finalists for Pet Sitters International’s (PSI) 2019 Pet Sitter of the Year Award are:
- Cara Brockman, CPPS, of Cara Care LLC in Chicago
- Randa Clark, CPPS, of Tailchasers Incorporated in Lake Barrington, Ill.
- Sarah El Sherbini, CPPS, of PetsGo Pet Care in Toronto
- Liz Hyde, CPPS, of Pet Charmers LLC in Gastonia, N.C.
- Casey Kanode of Fairfax Pet Care in Fairfax, Va.
First awarded by PSI in 1995, the Pet Sitter of the Year designation recognizes true excellence in the professional pet-sitting field, according to PSI officials. PSI evaluates nominees on stringent criteria including client and professional references, commitment to quality care and professionalism, contributions to clients and the industry-at-large, and commitment to continuing education.
“PSI’s Pet Sitter of the Year is the best of the best, serving as an example to the industry and the pet-owning public,” said Patti Moran, PSI president. “The 2019 finalists are shining examples of the qualities it takes to succeed in this booming industry—professionalism, pet-care knowledge, business savvy and a strong work ethic.”
The five finalists will move on to the next phase of the judging process, where a panel of independent judges will review and score the finalists’ submissions and supporting materials, including their references and finalist videos. The Pet Sitter of the Year will be revealed in January 2019.
The winner, along with the other four finalists, will also be recognized during PSI’s annual conference.
