The 22nd edition of Pet Fair Asia welcomed 1,591 exhibitors and 67,163 professionals from 42 countries and regions in late August, reaffirming its central role in the global pet industry, said officials from VNU Exhibitions Asia, which organized the event.
Organizers reported 8,656 overseas visitors at the show. There was a “dramatic” increase of buyers from South-East Asia and Middle East and South America, organizers said. Traditional important groups—South Korea, Japan and Western markets—were also in high numbers, officials further noted.
“Foreign exhibitors at the show reached new heights, particularly in pet food, snacks and pet food technologies,” said officials. The organizer also noticed a sharp increase of new local Chinese brands showcasing innovative products, a strong shift from pure manufacturing to modern brand logic.
The 9th International Pet Industry Summit took place the day before the show, breaking all records, according to officials, with 1,200 delegates. The 8th Petfood Forum China also took place.
In addition, VNU Exhibitions Asia launched the Asia Pet Alliance, a global initiative to facilitate cooperation between industry stakeholders and promote a sustainable development model for the pet industry.
A new business-to-business exhibition was also launched, Pet Fair South-East Asia. It will take place in Bangkok Oct. 14-16, 2020.
The 23rd Pet Fair Asia will take place Aug. 19-23, 2020.
