Pet Palette LLC has plans to move to a new warehouse, double the size of its current one, in early June.
The move will streamline the receiving and pick-and-pack process and provide more office space for the growing number of employees, according to the Sykesville, Md.-based company. The new location will be five miles from the current location.
“This will provide increased efficiencies, and more accurate and faster service for our customers,” said Michael Dagne, president and CEO. “The extra space will also allow us to bring in additional high-demand brands to add to the almost 60 we already have in house.”
Ron Metzger, who was recently hired as vice president of operations, will oversee the transition to the new warehouse. He will also oversee the logistics, operations and day-to-day management for Pet Palette.
“Ron’s talents with change management, analytics and performance improvements are a perfect match for Pet Palette’s growth needs,” Dagne said. “Ron comes to Pet Palette with a background in veterinary distribution and retail management, so we are excited to have him aboard.”
In July, Pet Palette has plans to launch a new operating platform based on NetSuite software. Customers and vendors will see many enhanced features, including easier on line ordering and more user-friendly integration, according to the company.
