Pet Product News Names Winners of 2018-2019 Retailer of the Year Awards

Pet Product News honored outstanding pet specialty retailers, groomers and service providers with its annual Retailer of the Year Awards during a ceremony held at the SuperZoo trade show, which was held in Las Vegas June 26-28. 

After combing through dozens of applications from pet businesses all across the U.S., PPN’s editors selected one standout store as its Retailer of the Year: Healthy Pet Products, which has two retail stores and one grooming store in the Pittsburgh area. 

An additional 11 stores join Healthy Pet Products as special honorees in this year’s Retailer of the Year awards. These stores have earned awards for their business achievements in a variety of categories. 

In the coming months, PPN will feature profiles of the winners in each issue of the magazine.

The winners are:

Retailer of the Year: Healthy Pet Products. The retail stores offer products for dogs, cats, small animals, birds and wild birds as well as boutique items. They also offer grooming, delivery and educational seminars to its customers. 

Special Recognition Categories:

Long-term Retail Success: Agri Feed Pet Supply, which has two stores in Knoxville, Tenn.

Social Steward: Bark Out Loud Doggie Boutique & Café, which has one store in Mansfield, Texas

Retail Concept: Cool Dog Gear, which has three locations in Pennsylvania  

Marketing: Dog Krazy, which has four locations in Virginia 

Concept & Innovation: Flying M Feed, which has one store in Houston  

At Your Service: Happy Dog Café, Boutique and Spa, which has one location in Belmont, N.C.

One to Watch: Lisa’s Doghouse, which has one store in North Bay, Ontario, Canada

People & Pet Partner: Purrrfect Bark, which has one location in Columbus, N.C.

Independent Spirit: The Quirky Pet, which has one location in Montpelier, Vt. 

Franchise: Wag N’ Wash Natural Food & Bakery, which has 16 locations in the U.S.  

Holistic Approach: Whiskers Holistic Petcare, which has two locations in New York
