Pet Product News and Brandon McMillan Name Winners of #PPNLuckyDog Contest

Published:

The final tally is in, and Pet Product News has identified the winners of PPN's and Brandon McMillan's #PPNLuckyDog social media contest, which was launched on Day 1 of the Global Pet Expo held in Orlando, Fla., March 21-23.

The first place winner, Erika Searl, is a pet blogger at The Pup Diary and had the most engagement on Instagram. Ami Schrager, a Global Pet Expo buyer, took second place with her photo on Facebook, and Patti Gail, owner of Amber Glen Equine Sports Rehab and Wellness Center, landed the third place spot for her photo on Facebook.

The three winners will each choose a rescue shelter to receive generous prizes donated by sponsors Lucy Pet Products, Loving Pets and Petmate.

The contest kicked off at PPN's Global Pet Expo booth, where McMillan, the Emmy Award-winning host of “Lucky Dog” on CBS, signed copies of his book “Lucky Dog Lessons” and took photos with fans.

Attendees were invited to post their photos with McMillan on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #PPNLuckyDog. The three photos with the most engagement—likes or shares on Facebook, retweets or favorites on Twitter and likes on Instagram—won a donation of pet products to the nonprofit no-kill animal shelter of their choice.

Stay tuned, as PPN will soon announce the lucky shelters that will receive the donated prizes.

Lucy Pet Products will donate 1,000 pounds of Formulas for Life pet food for dogs and cats. Loving Pets will donate a total of 3,000 bags of treats, 1,000 bags to each winner of its Houndations - mix and Totally Grainless Chicken and Cranberry. Petmate will donate an assortment of beds, kennels and toys.
