Pet Valu Fundraises a Record $2.56 Million in 2017
In 2017, Pet Valu exceeded its corporate-giving record by donating more than $2.56 million for the year. Pet Valu’s 2017 philanthropic efforts benefitted more than 1,500 local animal rescues and advocacy groups; delivered thousands of meals to pets in need; and helped more than 3,500 homeless animals find new families through in-store adoptions, company officials reported.
“Pet Valu’s story is told on a community-by-community basis, and 2017 has been an exciting chapter for us to become a part of so many local towns as not just their go-to pet store, but also their dedicated partner in reaching animals who need us the most,” said Joe Dent, chief store operations officer for Pet Valu, a chain with stores in the U.S. and Canada.
Supporting the company’s mission to help pets in their surrounding communities across the country, more than 370 Pet Valu stores across 13 states participated in 10 fundraising events this year—including a month-long Thanksgiving collection drive, celebration of Pet Appreciation Month in April, donations for hurricane victims in September and a summer fundraiser for the United States War Dogs Association.
