Pet Wants Appoints Company President

Pet Wants hired franchise leader Scott Hoots as the president. Hoots has been working in franchise leadership since 1992 and will work to improve the overall Pet Wants system and helping individual franchise owners be even more successful, according to company officials.

Pet Wants’ specially crafted pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl. Pet Wants franchises are locally owned by Pet Wants owners who are passionate, knowledgeable, care deeply about pets and work hard to create an excellent customer service experience. There are currently 78 Pet Wants franchises in the U.S. Pet Wants Franchise offers both a retail store model with delivery and a mobile delivery only model. 

“I have a strong passion for the franchise model and, for me, there’s nothing better than seeing franchisees meet their goals and achieve their dreams. I am excited to lead Pet Wants because there’s truly something special about being able to impact someone’s health and well-being—and that extends to their other family members, their pets. Pets are so important to us and, when you can give someone’s pet a better life through fresh, high-quality food, you make all their lives better,” Hoots said.

Hoots is a certified franchise executive as awarded by the International Franchise Association and has excelled in all facets of franchise leadership: operations, marketing, sales, compliance, and financial management, officials added. He most recently served as the vice president of franchising for American Family Care, where he oversaw 160 franchise locations both operational and under development. During his tenure at American Family Care, Hoots put numerous improvements into place that helped local franchisees and grew the total franchise system revenue by 31 percent in 2016 alone. Prior to that, Hoots worked as the director of operations for American Dental Partners, the director of franchise attractions at Ripley Entertainment, the director of franchising at 1-800-Flowers and both the corporate operations director and franchise operations director at Domino’s Pizza.

The Pet Wants franchise is part of Strategic Franchising, a group of affiliated franchise brands, based in Cincinnati. Strategic Franchising’s CEO, Chris Seman, said he’s looking forward to having Hoots lead, grow and elevate the company. 

“Pet Wants is a young and successful franchise system and during such rapid expansion, it’s natural that there are lots of moving pieces and even some growing pains,” Seman said. “As such, we needed someone who could effectively manage scalable growth and was a proven builder of companies, teams and solutions. We brought Scott on board because we are confident he’ll be able to help systematize the business, put innovative training and coaching systems in place for our franchise owners, further develop our support teams and communication systems, and ultimately help our franchise owners run their businesses in the most effective and profitable ways possible.”
