PetSmart Exclusive: Nulo MedalSeries

Published:

PetSmart announced that it is the exclusive national retailer for Nulo MedalSeries natural dog and cat foods, and it hosted several athlete ambassadors at the launch party celebration at the company’s headquarters in Phoenix.

Gold medal gymnast Carly Patterson and 12-time medalist swimmer Natalie Coughlin joined other gold-medal athletes, swimmer Ricky Berens and ice dancer Charlie White, for the celebration party.

Coughlin said she has fed Nulo to her dogs Dozer and She-Ra for years because she believes in feeding them high-quality ingredients and sees the results of a grain-free diet.

“As an athlete, I focus on quality food to ensure top performance and health, so it’s a natural extension for me to want to do this for the rest of my family—including my dogs,” Coughlin said. “Dozer is prone to skin allergies, so I wanted a grain-free food that also provided wholesome nutrition. I love that it has probiotics, which is great for both of the dogs’ digestive systems.”

Nulo, in Austin, Texas, makes all its food in the USA, and more than 82 percent of the protein in its MedalSeries products come from animal-based sources, the manufacturer stated. The foods come in a variety of recipes; they contain high-quality amino acids with advanced probiotics and antioxidants; and the formulas are made without grain, potatoes, tapioca, corn, wheat or soy.

“We are thrilled to be the exclusive national retailer of this exciting brand and to expand our natural pet food line with Nulo MedalSeries, pet nutrition that is focused on protein-first formulas that combine quality vegetables, probiotics and antioxidants to fuel a pet’s inner athlete,” said Ted Passig, executive vice president, buying and sourcing, for PetSmart. “We love that Nulo MedalSeries products are represented by world-class athletes who are hyper-focused on their diet and extending that same nutrition philosophy to their pets.”
