Petmate has acquired GAMMA2, a manufacturer of airtight containers primarily used to store dry pet food, best known for the Vittles Vault.

"At Petmate, we continually strive to provide quality products to help enhance the well-being and health of pets and their families. With the addition of the GAMMA2 industry-leading storage containers we can deliver an ever more impactful range of innovative products to our customers," said Alice Tillett, CEO of Petmate in Arlington, Texas. "It adds to our goal to provide a one-stop shop for all pet product needs."

GAMMA2, was founded by Curt Leland and has corporate offices in Carlsbad, Calif., and manufacturing plants in Gardena, Calif., and Sweetwater, Tenn. Over the course of the next six months, Petmate will complete a full transition of the Carlsbad, Calif., corporate office and its associated intellectual property to its corporate headquarters in Arlington, Texas. The Gardena, Calif., and Sweetwater, Tenn., facilities will continue to manufacture and distribute the high-quality dry pet food storage containers.

The company launched in 1989 with the introduction of the patented GAMMA Seal Lid that creates a better airtight seal than any other pet food storage container in the market. The company's product line currently offers a diverse slate of nearly 30 pet and food storage products for in-home, outdoor and travel. The products are widely distributed in-store and online at Petco, PetSmart, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, amazon.com and chewy.com.

"We are on the same page as Petmate when it comes to commitment to pet families," said Leland, president and CEO of GAMMA2.  "We're excited that Petmate will continue to build on the innovation and development of quality, durable products to enhance the category."
