The Pet Leadership Council (PLC) and its members have come together to provide aid to victims of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia as well as victims of the wildfires in California.
PLC has partnered with GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank program, which helps distributors, manufacturers and retailers get their donated supplies to those in need as efficiently as possible. Upon receiving notification of an available donation from a supplier, Rescue Bank coordinates and covers the costs of shipping those supplies to regional distribution centers managed by local affiliate groups. Those affiliates then notify other local groups and agencies in the affected area about the availability of the supplies.
Distributors, manufacturers and retailers wishing to contribute supplies to areas affected by recent hurricanes are urged to contact Denise Bash, GreaterGood.org’s director of special projects, at (215) 317-9909 to coordinate logistics.
In the areas affected by the hurricane, the following items are needed:
- companion animal enrichment products
- cat and dog food
- supplies for small animals (e.g., gerbils, rabbits, hamsters, birds
In the areas affected by the California wildfires, the following items are needed:

- lead ropes
- fly masks
- water buckets
