Pod GPS Pet Tracker Announces Over 300% Year-Over-Year Growth
Pod, maker of a GPS pet tracker, has announced more than 300 percent year-over-year growth and a range of major partnerships at the 2016 Global Pet Expo held this month in Orlando, Fla. Pod’s founder and creator, Sebastian Langton, made the announcement, citing strong sales demand and global interest that has made Pod a leading player in the pet tracking market.
“The past year has seen amazing growth for Pod as people worldwide have responded to what our service can provide for the wellbeing of their pets,” Langton said. “We have made partnerships with major pet retailers like PetBarn and PetSmart, that are working with us on our data, and even universities and movie makers to ensure the message that you never need to lose your pet again is heard.”
In addition to Langton's claim that Pod is the world's smallest, lightest and fully waterproof, he also cited new features to improve pets’ well-being and quality of life.
“Pod was created so people don’t have to go through the pain of losing their pet, but it is also about discovering what our pets can tell us about their health and even their personalities. Our new Pets Leagues tables create a global community of pets and their owners in an incredibly fun and interactive way that has never been done before.”
More than a year ago, Langton lost his best friend, his cat Rango, and was determined to find a way to prevent other pet owners from going through the same pain.
Langton learned that one in three pets go missing in their lifetime, which is more than 10 million pets a year. The idea for Pod was born—a vision to develop the best pet tracker in the world. He and his team built a prototype, kicked off a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $150,000, generated massive global awareness and helped Pod grow rapidly into one of the leading GPS pet trackers in the world.
