Pork Chomps Partners With Jack Hanna

Pork Chomps, a 100 percent rawhide-free dog chew, has partnered with Jack Hanna, the first-ever celebrity spokesperson for the brand.

“Jack inspired us through his lifelong passion and commitment to educate people about animals,” said Mike Bassett, president and CEO of Scott Pet, maker of Pork Chomps, in Rockville, Ind. “Pork Chomps has been the best-kept secret in the dog chew industry for years, but that is about to change. We are confident that partnering Jack’s expertise, passion and personal experience with our Pork Chomps rawhide-free message will be a game-changer in the industry.”

Introduced in 2006 by Scott Pet, Pork Chomps is the first dog chew made from a patented process of expanded pork skin and is 100 percent rawhide free, the company reported, adding that a leading veterinary university study has proven that Pork Chomps are 99.9 percent digestible.

“A few years ago, one of our beloved furry family members choked on a rawhide chew,” Hanna said. “Boy, it was a scary experience we won’t forget. We’re thrilled there are safe alternatives, like Pork Chomps, to satisfy our dogs’ natural desire to chew!”

Consumers will get their first glimpse of the partnership in July with the release of an integrated marketing campaign. This will be the largest campaign for the brand since its inception. The campaign invites consumers to take the Pork Chomps challenge.
