Registration for SuperZoo 2016 Is Open
Registration has opened for SuperZoo, one of the world’s most popular pet industry trade shows. At the same time, a bevy of details for 2016 have been unveiled, including the announcement of former NBA superstar Earvin “Magic” Johnson as SuperZoo’s 2016 keynote speaker and Styx as concert performer.
SuperZoo, produced by the Monrovia, Calif.-based World Pet Association (WPA) and held Aug. 1-4 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, will have Johnson—basketball legend and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises—open the 2016 trade show on Aug. 2 with an inspiring keynote on persevering through setbacks and how he parlayed his skills and tenacity on the court into success in the business world. He’ll share how his company has provided high-quality products and services while assisting underserved urban communities across the U.S. for more than 30 years.
“To say Magic Johnson’s work ethic and business intelligence are exceptional is an understatement,” said Doug Poindexter, president of WPA. “He’s built a globally recognized and respected brand while simultaneously helping transform our country through philanthropic efforts; we can’t think of a better speaker to help shed light on how to stand out in 2016.”
The first group to score four consecutive triple-platinum albums, Styx performs more than 100 shows per year and is recognized for its American rock hits including Renegade, Blue Collar Man and Come Sail Away. Styx will take the stage for a private SuperZoo concert at the Mandalay Bay House of Blues at 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 3.
Anticipating more than 700 new product debuts to meet the demands of the growing pet industry, WPA expanded the SuperZoo show floor by 85,000 square feet and added an extra day to the show, dedicated to education. The conference will run Aug. 1-3, and the trade show will be open Aug. 2-4. Featuring more than 70 seminars covering topics at the forefront of the pet industry, SuperZoo ensures attendees will gain the tools they need for continued business success.
“In 2015, SuperZoo brought together the most diverse group of pet professionals in the show’s 54-year history,” Poindexter said. “With a new show floor layout and features, SuperZoo 2016 is forecasted to be the largest and most exciting show to date.”
Attendees are encouraged to reserve mandatory, free tickets for the keynote session featuring Johnson. General admission tickets to Styx’s live performance may be purchased for $20. Tickets for both events will be available through the SuperZoo registration portal on Feb. 24.
