SPINS Hires Director of Business Development for Pet Channel

Published:

SPINS, a provider of retail consumer insights, analytics reporting, and consulting services for the natural, organic, and specialty products industry, has hired Amy Kerr as director of business development for its pet channel. Kerr’s role will be to ensure that brands and retailers are developing and shelving products that meet their consumers’ changing needs, while protecting and growing early-stage and mid-market pet retailers.

Kerr will cultivate strong partnerships with SPINS’ growing portfolio of regional and national pet retailers, according to officials for the Chicago-based company. She will also be responsible for building and implementing a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to further elevate the company’s presence in the U.S. pet industry.

Kerr brings a wealth of pet industry experience to SPINS, having spent the last 11 years in the industry. She worked at The Bramton Company, growing both the OUT! International brand in retail as well as the Simple Solution and Bags on Board brands with specialty pet retailers.

She then moved to PetEdge, where she acquired and managed numerous large corporate accounts as director of national accounts. Beyond building close relationships with key brick-and-mortar and e-commerce customers, Kerr also played a pivotal role in sales, marketing, and product development for PetEdge, according to officials.

“Amy Kerr’s pet industry experience as both a marketer and sales director will be vital to broadening our Pet Channel this coming year,” said SPINS CEO, Tony Olson. “SPINS’ pet clients and partners alike will greatly benefit from our investment in advancing our capabilities for the growing pet industry.”
