The Dog Stop Launches Long Island Expansion Plans
The Dog Stop, a dog care facility based in Pittsburgh, will be expanding its franchise business to Long Island, N.Y. One franchise agreement has already been signed.
“Today, most dog owners view their dogs as part of the family and, as a result, are spending more money than ever on dog-related goods and services,” said co-founder Jesse Coslov. “As dog owners ourselves, we understand the growing need to keep our dogs healthy, give them lots of love and socialization, and do what’s best for them. We’re excited to have finally made our way into Long Island, and can’t wait for The Dog Stop to become a part of the community.”
The company hopes to open as many as 15 total locations throughout Long Island over the next several years. Specific areas being eyed include New Hyde Park, Hempstead, Huntington and Lindenhurst, among others.
The Dog Stop, founded in 2009 and franchising since 2014, currently has 15 locations operating in six states, with more than 40 additional stores in various stages of development across the country. Services include boarding accommodations, social and interactive daycare experiences, spa-like grooming retreats, in-home services, and a retail store, to name a few.
