The Honest Kitchen Appoints Three Executive Team Members
The Honest Kitchen has made three key role changes within its executive team in order to support the company's growth. Michael Greenwell, previously the company’s president, has been promoted to chief executive officer, managing the company’s overall operations, development and strategy. Lucy Postins, founder of The Honest Kitchen, has assumed a new role as chief integrity officer, and Nate Kredich, a new comer to the executive team, will now take the position as chief operating officer, where he will lead the company’s daily operations.
The executive shifts have been implemented as part of the company’s long-standing strategy for growth and to help leverage its position as a recognized category leader and pioneer in the pet food industry. The company will continue amplifying its efforts in helping new consumers discover the brand, as well as creating operational excellence and innovations inspired by human food trends in the coming years, said company officials.
Greenwell has worked with The Honest Kitchen since 2010. During this tenure with the company, he has held the positions of chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and most recently, president. Greenwell has been an integral part in building The Honest Kitchen’s finance and operations departments, which have supported the company’s six years of consecutive double-digit growth and expansion, officials add.
Postins is the founder of The Honest Kitchen and has worked in the pet food industry for almost 20 years. She launched The Honest Kitchen in 2002, after creating the company’s first pet food recipe to help address her own dog’s health problems. Since inception, the family-owned company has pioneered pet-wellness with a collection made from the most pristine ingredient in a human food facility for the highest possible quality standards. Postins has served as the company’s chief executive officer for almost 15 years, and during that time has overseen operations, corporate and product development, strategy and marketing for the company.
“We couldn’t think of a more dedicated or passionate leader than Michael Greenwell to take the helm of the company and help it reach its full potential,” said Postins. “It’s immensely gratifying to have our long-term plan for him finally come to fruition. Personally, I’m incredibly excited to be able to focus more deeply on the areas of the business I’m most passionate about—our brand integrity, customer care and product ethics, to ensure we stay focused on our true north, and I’ll be continuing my work as the company’s chief spokesperson. The addition of Nate Kredich will round out our executive team and help add rigor and more disciplined processes as we continue to grow.”
Kredich is a seasoned executive and operator with 17 years of leadership experience across a range of entrepreneurial middle-market businesses. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of Pirch, where he helped grow Pirch’s revenues from $30 million to over $200 million, driving efficiencies and scale in its operations while expanding its footprint nationally.
