Treats Unleashed Acquires Five Bentley’s Pet Stuff Locations
Treats Unleashed, an all-natural pet food retailer headquartered in St. Louis, has acquired five Bentley’s Pet Stuff retail locations in the St. Louis and Kansas City, Mo., markets. The storefront of these locations will be remodeled and the store will offer products catering to both dogs and cats, including a new pet bakery, self-wash stations and grooming. The bakeries are expected to be up and running by the end of 2019, while grooming and self-wash renovations will take place in 2020, according to company officials.
Bentley’s Pet Stuff is a multi-unit healthy pet food retailer founded by Lisa and Giovanni Senafe, along with entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis, host of CNBC’s reality series “The Profit.” The retailer expanded into the St. Louis market in 2016 with eight stores in competition with Treats Unleashed, company officials said. Five of these locations have since closed. Treats Unleashed acquired the remaining three along with the two locations in the north Kansas City market. Local management and sales teams of Bentley’s Pet Stuff have joined Treats Unleashed.
“With this acquisition, we are excited to welcome the local Bentley’s teams to Treats Unleashed, and we look forward to introducing many more customers to the Treat Unleashed experience,” said Teresa Miller, owner and founder of Treats Unleashed. “This expansion not only allows us to grow our presence in the St. Louis and Kansas City communities, but it also allows us to continue our mission of investing in our local pet communities. We are very excited to show this new group of customers what Treats Unleashed has to offer, and we look forward to becoming a part of the lives of many more pets by helping pet parents make healthy choices for their pets.”
