Virginia Pet Care Franchise Signs First Two Deals

Published:

Woofie’s Pet Ventures LLC, a pet care franchise launched by Woofie’s in Ashburn, Va., recently signed its first two development agreements for locations in Reston and Leesburg, Va. The franchise offers the combined services of personalized pet sitting, dog walking and mobile pet spa services.

Tanya Lee, who comes from the corporate world of information technology and finance, will be the first to set up shop.

“Interestingly, while I was exploring franchises, I needed to find a mobile groomer for my dog,” Lee said. “I simply couldn’t find one in Reston where I live. My friends who live in Ashburn raved about Woofie’s.”

When Lee saw the banner “Franchise Opportunities Coming Soon” on the Woofie’s website, everything clicked into place, she said.

“We were very fortunate to find such a wonderful franchisee so quickly in Tanya,” said Woofie’s co-founder Amy Reed. “Right from our first meeting, we knew that Tanya was going to be a great business partner. With her impressive background in the financial world, combined with her love of dogs, she certainly has the right recipe for success.”

Another core value of the pet care service franchise is a focus on community involvement, according to the company. Once a year, Woofie’s hosts a “Paws & Claus” fundraising event where they partner with a local pet photographer to take photos with Santa with all proceeds donated to a local animal shelter. Woofie’s also collects unused pet items from clients for Friends of Homeless Animals, on a quarterly basis, and sponsors a dog each year to provide a year’s worth of food and supplies.
