WPA Appoints New Board Members and Officers
The World Pet Association (WPA) has elected new officers and welcomed a new group of leading industry professionals to its board of directors. Their collective expertise will help promote the health and growth of the pet industry, according to WPA officials.
The new officers on WPA’s board of directors include: Vic Mason, CEO and co-founder of Replenish Pet, as chairman; Chris Clevers, president of Hikari Sales USA, as first vice chair; Kim Stout, president of Coastal Pet Products, as second vice chair; Troy Firth, CEO of Anipet Animal Supplies, as CFO; and Jeff San Souci, director of marketing of the Hagen Group, as secretary.
New board members include Chad Dodd, DVM, of Animatas Consulting, Micah Kohles, DVM, MPA, of Oxbow Animal Health and Heather Smith of King Wholesale.
Dr. Dodd is the chief commercial officer for Anivive Lifesciences and the founder and CEO of Animatas Consulting. Dodd integrates his veterinary medical degree with 20 years of experience in clinical research, product development, professional education, global sales and marketing, and general management to help pet health companies and health care professionals thrive, said WPA officials.
Dr. Kohles joined Oxbow Animal Health as vice president of technical services and research in 2006. Additionally, he is co-founder of Flatwater Veterinary Group, which operates four small-animal/exotic veterinary practices. Kohles serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Smith is CEO of family-owned and -operated Yuba City, Calif.-based King Wholesale. Smith came up through the ranks and worked every position at the company, from warehouse worker to management to marketing and sales.
