WPA Cancels America’s Family Pet Expo Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

Published:

In light of the recent local and national events surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the World Pet Association (WPA) has canceled America’s Family Pet Expo 2020, which was scheduled for April 24-26 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. WPA officials said that they will honor full refunds to all exhibitors and attendees currently registered.

“Out of an over-abundance of caution in reaction to the COVID-19 virus and the health and welfare of our pet community, the World Pet Association has regretfully decided to cancel America’s Family Pet Expo 2020,” officials said in a statement. “This follows a number of cancellations of large-scale events throughout the state of California. We felt it was only prudent to follow suit and be responsible toward the community in avoiding and preventing the spread of this virus.”

America’s Family Pet Expo was created 30 years ago in an effort to fulfill its mission of bringing the pet community together to share knowledge and passion while helping its member’s businesses thrive.

“Pet Expo is committed to delivering important and relevant content to all passionate pet owners, and we are working on some exciting projects to help keep our community together during this time while we look ahead to planning an incredible event for 2021,” said Courtney Harold, vice president of sales and marketing.

Other industry shows that have been rescheduled or postponed include the Petfood Forum and Interzoo.
