Wag N’ Wash Continues Twin Cities Expansion
Wag N' Wash Food & Bakery, a full-line specialty retail destination for cats and dogs, is accelerating its expansion aspirations in Minnesota.
With one store already open and operating in Eagan, Minn. and a second slated to open early next year in the West Saint Paul area, the specialty pet retailer hopes to have as many as 10 stores in the Twin Cities over the next several years.
“Wag N’ Wash understands the importance of quality pet food and grooming services for your furry friend,” said Jon Wagner, a former certified public accountant who will own and operate the West Saint Paul store with his wife, Natalie. “We look forward to providing ease and convenience by being a one-stop-shop where pet owners can wash ’em, feed ’em and spoil ’em, all in one cool place.”
Founded in 1999, Wag N’ Wash offers a community for pet enthusiasts to find quality goods and services for their pet companions. Among the store’s offerings are various brands of all-natural pet foods for dogs and cats, supplements, collars and leads, toys, supplies and unique goods.
In addition, Wag N’ Wash’s do-it-yourself dog wash facility is designed to put convenience and fun into the “chore” of washing a dog. The stores also have in-house bakery, which offer treats such as Liver Bites, Pumpkin Ravioli, and a variety of pies, cakes and muffins using human grade ingredients.
“The Twin Cities—with its countless lakes, rivers, green spaces galore and plenty of natural escapes right within the city limits—is a paradise of sorts for man and woman’s best friends, said Wag N’ Wash co-founder Dan Remus. “We anxiously look forward to expanding our local footprint even further, and continuing to improve the lives of companion animals and helping them transition to a much healthier lifestyle.”
The average investment to own and operate a Wag N’ Wash 3,500-4,200 square foot store is approximately $638,329. This includes the franchise fee of $40,000, build-out costs, training expenses, the first three months of rent, furniture, signage, computer equipment, inventory and supplies, initial advertising and grand opening costs. Three- and five-unit agreements are also available to select and qualifying candidates.
Today, there are 14 Wag N’ Wash locations throughout Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington.
