Woof Gang Bakery Founder to Kick Off Pet Connections Expo
Paul Allen, founder of Woof Gang Bakery in Orlando, Fla., will be kicking off Pet Connections Expo on Oct. 15 with a presentation on how independent retailers can propel their storefront pet business growth by adding services to their operations. The two-day trade event is organized by the International Conference Development, LLC (ICDevents) and will take place at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center in Edison, N.J.
“I am pleased to be a part of this year’s Pet Connections Expo and excited to share with attendees my perspective on the current state of the pet industry,” Allen said. “In particular, I’ll be discussing my point of view on the important role that grooming and services play in storefront specialty pet retail businesses. I look forward to sharing my experiences in building Woof Gang Bakery and the competitive advantages that brick-and-mortar stores can cultivate to compete with big-box stores and online retailers.”
Other speakers will include Bill Bookout, founder and CEO of the National Animal Supplement Council; Dave Ratner, who sits on the board of directors of the National Retail Federation; and Judy Morgan, DVM, who uses Traditional Chinese Medicine in food therapy principles.
Pet Connections Expo will be introducing a new Boot Camp for independent pet retailers, “Tactical Lessons to Drive More Sales this Holiday Season,” facilitated by Lynn Switanowski, founder and president of Creative Business Consulting Group in Boston.
“We are happy to be bringing our 2019 program to New Jersey and the opportunity to further our reach to retailers to participate before the busy holiday season,” said Bill Doherty, ICDevents president and show director. “We are excited about our lineup of speakers and the vast experiences that these industry visionaries will contribute to the program. In addition to the mainstage speakers, we have a number of great Campfire Sessions throughout the two days that will certainly help retailers to succeed and grow their businesses.”
The expo is free to qualified retailers and pet professionals, which includes groomers, boarding professionals, trainers, pet sitters and veterinarians. To register, click here.
