iHeartDogs.com Surpasses Holiday Dog Shelter Food Drive Goal
iHeartDogs.com officials are calling its holiday dog shelter food drive “a miracle.” The fundraiser, which ran from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, was dubbed “0 percent off” where instead of discounts, the company gave all deals back to shelters and rescues by doubling food donations on every purchase to fund meals for shelter dogs.
“We launched an ambitious goal to raise 500,000 meals in just four days, which had never been done before, and our community responded in ways that completely blew our minds,” said Justin Palmer, CEO of iHeartDogs.com, an online retailer and pet media company based in Anaheim, Calif. “Together we raised 1.3 million-plus meals for shelter dogs in need. It was a Christmas Miracle.”
The iHeartDogs.com team then launched their Christmas Miracle event a few days later. Along with partners GreaterGood and ZestyPaws, the group surprised 10 rescues with much needed meals, supplies and beds, officials said.
“Rescues were surprised with neatly wrapped pallets of food, a social media corner to showcase dogs that need a home and surprises for the pups,” officials added.
