The Hotdog is designed to detect deadly temperature changes inside a vehicle to prevent a dog from suffering heat exhaustion. When the temperature of the canine compartment exceeds the programmed setting, it lowers up to two electric windows, activates the car horn and/or lights, notifies the owner by an optional pager up to one mile away, and activates an optional ventilation fan, according to the company. It has an independent electronic backup temperature sensor designed to protect pets from a system or operator error. A portable model is also available.
