How’s business going?
It’s going good. This year has been pretty good, considering the state of the economy. We’re doing a little better than last year, but just a little, it should be better than it is, but it’s the economy.
Any trends in your business? What’s selling well?
No, not really. Taste of the Wild dog food is doing really well. It’s one of our best sellers. We don’t do Iams, we do Eukanuba, Merrick, Science Diet, Pro Plan and others. We carry the Wellness brand also. We’re full line, but we don’t do horses or farm animals. We don’t do wild birds either.
We carry a lot of aquatics stuff. It’s good. We do both salt and fresh. I would say algae eaters and catfish are out best freshwater sellers right now.
Anything new?
We’re not really carrying anything new. Not right now. We’re kind of trying to hunker down and see how things go with the economy.
Do you sell other livestock?
We do sell puppies and kittens, but we only get puppies from local breeders, not from puppy mills. It’s hard to say what is selling best. Usually, kittens go pretty fast, birds are doing well, then small animals, and puppies, because we don’t get puppies that often. --EM
