The All-Wood CatVantage Climber features floor-to-ceiling circular stairs and a near-ceiling loft. Our tester’s pets—Smelly and Fraidy—two black cats from the same litter, spend much of their time fighting each other to the top, where it’s all about stalk advantage and a place to snooze. We like its sleek design and that it uses little floor space. Plus, as our tester points out, it doesn’t grab hold of loose pet hair.

The Kitty Treat Pocket is designed to keep cats calm through focused concentration. A netting pocket holds a treat, which gradually falls through the netting as the cat chews. Our tester, who has an overweight cat, thinks this is the greatest invention ever. “My chubby kitty goes through treats so fast,” she says. “But if I put one in this treat pocket, it lasts a long time and I feel better knowing she’s getting only one treat in 10 minutes rather than two treats in 10 seconds.” At last, a toy for cats that is more than just fun for them to bat around and carry (although it’s great for that, too)!

Smell Goodies is a breath freshener and deodorizing tablet for dogs. It is formulated to work with the pet’s digestive system to neutralize odor before it’s emitted through the dog’s breath or secreted onto its coat. Our tester, who has a senior Doberman and Labrador mix, says she noticed results after a week. “He used to reek,” she says. “Now I can go longer without giving him a bath because he has less of that doggie smell.” Two sizes are available, for dogs under and over 40 pounds.
