Posted: Thursday, August 6, 2009, 2:25 p.m., EDT

Natura Introduces Recyclable Dog Food Bags Natura Pet Products of Fremont, Neb., unveiled on Aug. 6 new 98 percent recyclable packaging for its Karma brand of organic dog food. Natura claims it is the first sustainable container produced for a major pet food company.

“We are continually looking for new ways to decrease the impact of our manufacturing and delivery processes on the environment in which our animal companions live,” President Don Scott said in a statement. “Our new Karma packaging is another way we are bringing these efforts to reality for our consumers.”

With the exception of the top seal, the 7-pound bags are repulpable (convertible to pulp), biodegradable and made using compostable and biodegradable technology. End users can recycle the bag with their regular paper goods after cutting off the top seal. <HOME>
