The Pet Care Services Association
(PCSA), a Colorado Springs, Colo.-based trade association with more than 3,100 business members, has named Joan Saunders as its new chief executive officer.
Saunders comes to PCSA from the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce where she was named chief operating officer and chief financial officer in 2007. Prior to that, Saunders served as president of a management consulting firm and held various other positions, including CEO for a healthcare facility and vice president of a $12 million manufacturing company.
In the animal field, Saunders holds board positions with Pike’s Peak Therapeutic Riding Center and the Humane Society of the Pike Peaks Region.
“We are delighted to have Joan join the Pet Care Services Association as CEO and are confident that with her personal passion for pets and her extensive successful experience in association management, she will be able to successfully move us forward into the future of our industry while ensuring we maintain the core values of our association,” PCSA president Charlotte Biggs said.
Saunders is replacing Joseph Lyman who resigned as CEO in April after serving nearly two years in the position. PCSA’s administrative manager Penny Buchman was appointed interim CEO while the board searched for a permanent replacement. <HOME>
