To help the canine disaster search teams on the ground in earthquake-stricken Haiti, the Planet Dog Foundation (PDF) has set up a fundraising program to make an emergency donation to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (NSDF).

Planet Dog’s non-profit foundation, which specializes in grant funding for programs such as NSDF that work with dogs to help people in need, plans to match donations up to $1,500 made to PDF for the work of the search dogs in Haiti. In addition, Joanne Woodward Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation will then match PDF’s total contribution to NSDF.

The fundraising drive ends Monday, Feb. 8 and the NSDF receives the donation Feb. 10. Joanne Woodward Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation are set to match the PDF gift Feb. 15.

Donations can be made at the Planet Dog Company Store, 211 Marginal Way in Portland, Ore. They can also be mailed to Planet Dog Foundation, 49 York Street, Portland, Maine 04101, or via the PDF donation form online. Donors must indicate the gift is for the matching grant program for Haiti. <HOME>
