Romy & Jacob owner Lina Asselien, right, and Marie-Claude Rheault, owner of The Wow Collection, are debuting the first Canadian luxury pet market trade show, CaniLux, scheduled for March 12 to 14.
A trade show targeting the Canadian luxury pet market is set to debut in March. The CaniLux Boutique Exclusive Trade Show, scheduled for March 12 to 14 in Brossard, Quebec, aims to bring together a select group of upscale pet product manufacturers from Canada and retailers from Canada and the U.S.

Romy & Jacob owner Lina Asselien, who is organizing the event with Marie-Claude Rheault, owner of The Wow Collection, said the show was created to meet the needs of high-end Canadian pet product manufacturers and retailers who otherwise lack a local event at which to engage in business.

“There are no luxury pet trade shows in the spring in Canada, but there is a need,” Asselien said.

The event will be held at the Alt Hotel in Brossard, which is located just south of downtown Montreal, Quebec. Retailers from Quebec, Ontario and the United States’ East coast are expected to attend the show. Among the companies already registered to exhibit are Romy & Jacob, The Wow Collection, Woof Cosmetics by Bella Pella, and Laika Design. Most exhibitors are from the Montreal area.

In addition to the product exhibition, groomer Melanie Davies, who owns Chien Zen in Mount Royal, Quebec, is scheduled to host educational seminars for retailers.

Due to the level of interest in the show, Asselien expects to expand the exhibit space to include additional hotel floors. Depending upon the success of this event, Asselien said she and Rheault might hold another show in the fall. She said she’d like to include more exhibitors from Canadian provinces outside of Quebec.

The deadline to register as an exhibitor at the debut CaniLux Boutique Exclusive Trade Show is Feb. 15. Admission is free to qualified buyers. Click here for more information. <HOME>
