International Association of Canine Professionals to Hold Annual Conference in March

The International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) will host its 10th annual conference in Hutto, Texas, March 18 to 21. The event is open to pet professionals as well as the public.
The conference, entitled, “Your Future Success Relies on Dollars and Scents – Providing the ‘Knows’ for Business and Success,” is targeted at trainers, groomers and pet sitters. Seminars and workshops will cover a range of pet care and business topics, from tips for deciphering dog behavior to tips for attracting new customers.
Scheduled seminars include:
- Animals Make Us Human, by Temple Grandin;
. - Make Yourself a Household Name, by Larry Genkin;
. - Keep Your Dog Guessing, by Joel Silverman;
. - I Am Not the Dog You Think I Am, by Peter Wilmott;
. - Are You Going To Bite Me? and Surviving the Multi-Dog Household, both by Sue Sternberg;
. - It’s Fun To Have Fun But How, by Mark Hines; and
. - Defensive vs. Offensive Aggression, by Aimee Sadler.
Scheduled workshops include:
- Optimal Wellness From Nose-To-Tail, by Thom Somes, founder of Pet Tech, a pet CPR, first aid and care training center; and
. - Wanted: Four Furry Paws and a Good Work Ethic (Service Dog Training), by Bonnie Brown-Cali, a field representative for Paws With a Cause, an organization that trains service dogs for the disabled.
Admission fees vary, with IACP members receiving discount pricing.
