Posted: Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 2:02 p.m., EDT

Petco to Host Natural Neighborhood FestivalPetco is gearing up for a Natural Neighborhood Festival to help educate pet owners about natural goods and services. The event is scheduled to take place in all Petco stores nationwide on April 10.

“We are deeply committed to helping pets live the healthiest and longest lives possible,” Petco CEO Jim Myers said in a statement. “Offering an industry-leading assortment of natural products and hosting educational events like the Natural Neighborhood Festival are just two examples of how we help pet parents provide the healthiest lifestyle for their pets.”

During the event, attendees may receive a free one-on-one nutrition consultation with a Petco certified nutrition expert to help determine the natural food options best suited for their pets' dietary needs. Attendees will also be able to learn about all-natural grooming services and observe dog training techniques.

The festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each of Petco’s more than 1,000 stores. An expanded version will take place beachfront in Santa Monica that includes a pet yoga class, dog massages and guest appearances by Dr. Marty Becker of "Good Morning America" and Martha Stewart Living radio’s Cat Chat host Tracie Hotchner.
