Dogswell Invites Dog Owners to Shape Up Their Pups
The Shape Up Your Pup Challenge encourages dog owners to help combat pet obesity
Dogswell, a Los Angeles-based pet food company, has launched an online contest that invites owners of overweight dogs to trim down their pudgy pooches. The goal of the Shape Up Your Pup Challenge is to raise awareness about pet obesity, according to the company.

As part of the challenge, participants have to include Dogswell’s Shape Up weight-management dog food in their dogs’ diet and track their dogs’ weight loss progress. To help in the process, contestants receive discounts on Shape Up dog food as well as tips on sustainable weight-management practices.

Participant profiles are posted online. Beginning July 1, visitors to the site will be able to vote for their favorite challengers.

In September, Dogswell will select three winners based on overall physical improvement and number of fans. All winners will receive Dogswell food and treats and a chance to become the official Shape Up “spokesdog.”
