Martha Stewart Pet Collection Launches in Petsmart
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. (MSLO) of New York City officially launched its line of pet products today in Petsmart stores and on the company's website.
The new Martha Stewart Pets collection includes a wide range of products, from apparel and collars to toys and grooming supplies. All of the products were designed, tested and approved by MSLO founder Martha Stewart, her pets and her team of experts, according to the company.
“I consider my pets members of my family, and it’s important to me that they’re well cared for,” Stewart said in a statement. “I’m delighted to provide other pet owners with affordable, quality products that they can rely on to make their pets happy and comfortable.”
The Martha Stewart Pets collection is comprised of more than 100 products, mainly for dogs, although some also could be used for cats. It includes:
• More than 50 toys, such as tennis balls in Martha’s signature colors and hand-crocheted chew toys in animal shapes;
• Collars, harnesses and leashes in leather and in canvas;
• Quilted dog beds with machine-washable zip-off slip covers; and
• Dishwasher-safe 3-in-1 feeding bowls.
The collection is available in all of Petsmart’s more than 1,160 stores in the United States and Canada, according to a company spokeswoman.
“Working with Petsmart was a natural choice because they are the leader in pet retail and share my desire for the happiness and healthiness of pets,” Stewart said.
Matt McAdam, Petsmart vice president of merchandising, said the pet specialty retailer is thrilled to offer the one-of-a-kind collection.
“The new line gives pet parents another reason to visit our stores for the products and services they need for their pets to enjoy healthy, happy lives,” he said.
The Martha Stewart Show will air outtakes on July 8 of a new Petsmart commercial featuring Stewart and her three dogs. The new pet collection is the latest in a string of pet-related initiatives MSLO has undergone in the past year. In 2009, the media and merchandising company launched a pet website through MarthaStewart.com and added pet-related content to its television programming, magazine and radio show. <HOME>
